About Our Company
Hang Em Higher - The brainchild of Dean Sharp. A Mechanical Engineer and inventor.
Having to re-iron clothes is becoming a big problem in the UK, with most newly fitted wardrobes with 2 rails having this issue. So I searched around the internet to see if there was a hanger that lifted the clothes up.
But there was nothing that solved the problem. So I decided to try to design my own. I started out with a piece of cardboard. Then bought some tools and materials to cut the design out. But I wasn't happy with the design. So started again and again.
Finally I was happy with our latest designs. My main points was to get away from plastic and design a hanger that solved the problem. Also I wanted the hanger to be Green and ECO friendly. After getting the design right I chose to use Birch plywood for strength and sustainability. Also without using any coatings or sealants I had patent searches carried out to make sure my design isn't already out there.
It's taken 18 months to get to the stage where I can produce and sell the hangers.
Hang Em Higher | A Dream Realised
A Word From The Founder
Honestly, I was getting annoyed every time I saw my clothes in the wadrobe/closet resting on the shelf below and becoming creased. Clothes had to be ironed again before wearing them. This is a problem with wardrobes/closets worldwide; those with two rails do not have enough vertical space between the rails. Those with one rail do not have enough access underneath for additional storage.
I searched around both in store and on the internet to see if there was a hanger that lifted clothes up as a space saving method, but there was nothing that solved the problem completely. After being unable to find an alternative solution, I decided to design my own hangers. Now, after all the hard work, they are available to purchase.
One of my main points was to get away from the plastic design and create an eco friendly hanger that would solve the space problem in a sustainable way. During the design process, I chose to use Birch plywood for both its strength and sustainability. I have completed patent searches to ensure my design isn't already out there. The hangers are produced from start to finish in the UK. We manufacture these ourselves to the highest quality.
The best comment I have had about my design is: 'You have solved a problem we didn't know we had.'
